Dear Parents,
Although the risk of infection to the public in Orange County is believed to be low according to the Orange County Department of Health, I want to update you on how IvyCrest is taking steps to ensure we are preventing the spread of the COVID virus in our school community. Naturally, we can only control our own school environment, and hope you understand that everyone has the potential to be exposed from sources outside IvyCrest. We hope you will continue your due diligence at all times.
Our number one defense is hand-washing. We are asking students to practice thorough hand-washing techniques, and keep washing for 20 seconds. Our IvyCrest teachers and staff will continue to sanitize surface areas continually throughout the day. Our "elbow shake" will continue to be put into practice until further notice.
We also ask that anyone who is showing flu-like symptoms, or a fever over 100 degrees, stays home from school for 24 hours, and/or until the fever has been broken for a full 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication. Also, avoid close contact with people who are sick and cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your sleeve (not hands).
Lastly, if you have traveled to one of the areas listed in the travel ban within the past 14 days (China, Japan, South Korea, Iran, or Italy), or if you have come into contact with someone who has traveled there in the past 14 days, please do not come to IvyCrest. Please self quarantine for the CDC's recommended 14 days.
Thank you for your continued support and adherence to these guidelines to help keep our students healthy.
Sincerly,
The IvyCrest Board of Directors
