Dear Parents,
We hope this letter finds you and your family healthy and in good spirits.
We are pleased to announce that with the support and partnership of our administration, teachers, and parents, we have experienced a successful re-opening for our children of essential workers over the past three weeks. We want to say a whole-hearted "thank you" to all of you for your cooperation.
As many of you are aware, on May 8th, the State of California moved to Stage 2, which per the Department of Public Health, allows childcare centers to operate for both essential and non-essential workers. After three weeks of operating successfully under our new COVID protocols, we feel we are ready to receive additional children in need of care effective June 1.
At this time, State Licensing requires childcare centers to serve children in stable groups of 10. Due to our large classrooms, our state analyst has permitted IvyCrest to divide our classrooms into two distinct sections for each group of 10 children. Therefore, the maximum children we are allowed to take is 20 per classroom. With these maximums, we will be forced to accept children on a first come, first served basis.
As our school moves to reopen to all our IvyCrest families, we will need confirmation and information regarding your child's return. We understand there may be some uncertainty surrounding your decision to send your child back to school. Therefore, we have included our COVID Parent Manual which details our new protocols and operations to keep our staff, and your children, safe while here at IvyCrest. For those of you ready to return, please review the "Road Back to IvyCrest" with your child, which will open a dialogue about the changes your child can expect when they return.
Whether you are ready to send your child on June 1 or not, we ask that you please complete the survey found in the link below. It will help us with planning and scheduling for the months to come. We do intend on holding our much anticipated Summer Camp, however, due to social distancing, we will be canceling our field trips and hosting fun on-site activities in their place. Additionally, due to prolonged distance learning, we feel it is absolutely critical to assess and prescribe an individual curriculum for each child to work on during our summer camp. For our elementary parents, please be on the lookout for an invitation to sign up for a complimentary 1:1 assessment with your child's teacher. While our students are no strangers to academics during the summer, we will be launching OPERATION: CATCH UP, KEEP UP, GET AHEAD! in order for all our students aged 4 and above to ensure their readiness for next school year.
We have so much fun in store for those who plan to attend our summer camp! We still plan on hosting our live assemblies and activities safely presented in a socially distanced manner which include Bubblemania, Exotic Animals, Magicians and a special visit from our favorite Shave Ice Truck! Don't forget, it’s going to be a three-ring circus with all that we have planned for our Elementary students: sports, games, magic tricks, and STEM Challenges! Preschoolers will still participate in summer crafts, songs, live music, games, and obstacle courses!
We are diligently working on a distance learning curriculum for those of you who are contemplating joining our summer camp from a distance! Stay tuned!
We thank you for your ongoing support. We look forward to seeing many of you very soon!
Please remember to complete our survey below by Monday, May 25th. One survey for each child enrolled, please!
Sincerely,
The IvyCrest Board of Directors
